The problem with time tracking for agencies

Time bleeds between clients

A quick Slack from Client B while you are mid-session on Client A. You stop one timer — or forget to. At invoice time the split is wrong and the conversation is awkward.

Scope creep goes unnoticed until the damage is done

You agreed to 40 hours. You are at 38 hours and still two weeks from delivery. Nobody flagged it at 30 hours, or 35. The client never approved additional time because nobody asked.

Invoice day is a reconstruction exercise

Pulling a month of hours from memory, calendar events, and commit logs is not billing — it is guesswork. Clients push back on estimates without an audit trail.

How ClockMe solves it

Built for the way agencies actually work.

Concurrent client timers

Run separate timers for every active client simultaneously. Each entry logs independently to its project at the right billing rate. No manual splitting when you context-switch mid-day.

Unique

Per-project billing rates

Set a different hourly rate for each client. When you generate an invoice, ClockMe multiplies hours by the rate that was active when the entry was created — rate changes never corrupt past invoices.

Budget alerts at 25/50/75/100%

Set a weekly or daily hour budget per project. ClockMe sends browser and in-app notifications as you approach the limit. You can flag scope creep before the client does.

Invoice PDF in one click

Select a project and a date range. ClockMe generates a print-ready invoice with line-item entries, hours, rate, and total. Clockify charges $6.99/month for this — ClockMe includes it free.

Questions from agencies

Can I track multiple clients from one ClockMe account?

Yes. Create a project for each client with its own billing rate. Run concurrent timers, generate separate invoices per project, and see a dashboard that shows all active timers at once.

How do budget alerts work for fixed-price projects?

Set a daily or weekly hour budget on any project. ClockMe notifies you at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of the budget in your browser and in the app. Useful for both hourly-capped projects and fixed-price projects where you are tracking internal cost.

Does ClockMe support team billing for agencies with multiple developers?

ClockMe Pro with team workspaces is coming soon at $8/seat/month. It will support shared projects, team timesheets, and combined invoicing. Currently, ClockMe is optimized for individuals — each team member would need their own account.

Can I have different rates for different team members on the same client?

That is a Pro team feature coming soon. On the individual plan, each project has one billing rate. Multi-rate team billing is part of the Pro roadmap.

What if a client disputes hours?

Every ClockMe entry has a start timestamp, end timestamp, duration, and project. The reports page shows a full audit trail you can export as CSV. Detailed billing is harder to dispute than a single line item.
